APALACHIN, NY – Monmouth University Men's Golf tied for fifth in a 17-team field at the Matthews Auto Collegiate Invitational, with
Ron Robinson (Hatfield, PA/North Penn) leading the MU card for the third time in three events this season and placing in the top-10. The tournament was cut short due to weather, and was scored as an 18-hole event.
Robinson posted an even-par round of 72, including four birdies and a one-under 35 on the front. He ranked ninth overall, and has led the Hawks in all three tournaments this year.
Jimmy Criscione (Paramus, NJ/Bergen Catholic) shot 74 to place inside the top-25, and freshman
Erik Stevens (Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon) shot 75 to finish in a tie for 26
th.
Andy Stock (Danbury, CT/Danbury) was one back of that pace, while
Glen-Michael Mihavetz (Montrose, CO/Montrose) shot 84. Playing as an individual,
Brendan Smith (Sayville, NY/Sayville) shot 74 to finish 21
st.
The Hawks shot 297, the first sub-300 round of the season for the Blue and White, to tie Siena for fifth place. MU was one back of Saint Peter's for fourth, while Rider and Canisius tied for the team victory.
