WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University women's tennis team earned a doubles win and had two singles matches go to a third set, but eventually fell to Lafayette on Tuesday, 7-0.
 
Freshman Ann Spurka (Cumming, GA/Cambridge) and junior Chinonye Gabriel (Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) improved to 4-1 at No. 2 doubles this season. At No. 1 singles, Spurka fell in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, 10-6. Junior Sophia Fredriksson was edged at both No. 3 singles, 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 and No. 1 doubles with teammate Nicole Gasser, 7-6.
