POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – In its first MAAC match of the spring, the Monmouth University women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to Marist on Saturday. Freshman Sophia Fredriksson battled at No. 2 singles, eventually falling 6-2, 7-6. After losing the first set 6-2, junior Maria Ivanova narrowly lost the second set at No. 5 singles, 7-5. Junior Alexandra Graff and sophomore Caroline Mattise were outlasted at No. 2 doubles by a score of 7-6. The Hawks will return to action on Saturday, when they face Niagara at 3:30 PM.
