WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University men's lacrosse team dropped an overtime heartbreaker to Detroit Mercy on Saturday afternoon at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn. The Titans scored with six seconds remaining to send the game to overtime and scored on the first possession of the extra period to improve to 2-0 in the MAAC.

Bryce Wasserman scored a hat trick for Monmouth, with all three goals coming in the third quarter after Monmouth battled back from a 5-2 halftime deficit.

The Hawks took an 8-7 lead after the second of back-to-back Griffin Figel goals came with 5:14 remaining in the fourth quarter, before Brennan Kamish went on to score the game-tying and game-winning goals.

- Freshman Noah Lode made 12 saves in goal for Monmouth. It was Lode's fifth double-digit save performance.
- Garrett Pfeifer and Chandler Vanderbeek led the Hawks with six ground balls apiece.
- Monmouth has outscored its opponents 27-11 in the fourth quarter of games this season.
