WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- Monmouth University's (0-2) women's lacrosse team fell to Temple University (2-0), 18-7, on Wednesday afternoon at Kessler Stadium.

The teams traded goals in the opening minutes of the game but the Owls rattled off six unanswered goals before Monmouth junior
Jenny Staines (Silver Spring, MD/Good Counsel) tallied her second goal to cut the lead to 7-3.
Nicole Ceraso's (Massapequa, NY/Plainedge) second goal of the afternoon got the Hawks to within three but the Owls wrapped up the half on a 4-0 run to take a 11-4 lead into the break.

Temple controlled much of the second half action, with senior Nicole Barretta leading the way with seven total goals. Ceraso and Staines turned in hat tricks each but it wasn't enough as Temple cruised to the 18-7 victory.
