SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
Valpo comes in off a loss to Western Kentucky in the opener of the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Five Crusaders average double figures after two contests this season.

HEAD COACH MATT LOTTICH
Matt Lottich is in his third season at the helm of Valpo and sixth season overall at Valparaiso, having previous- ly served on Bryce Drew's staff. He has 40 wins to his credit, including a 2017 berth in the NIT after a Horizon League regular season championship.

HAWKS AT NEUTRAL SITES
Monmouth is 0-1 on neutral floors after falling to West Virginia at the HTC Center this week. MU went 1-2 in three neutral site games last season and overall under King Rice are 10-10 in games played at neutral sites.

​​​​​​​TOURNAMENT NOTES
-Monmouth fell to West Virginia on the first day, while Valpo was defeated by Western Kentucky.
-Elsewhere in the bracket, Central Florida defeated Cal State Fullerton and Saint Joseph's beat Wake Forest. -Saturday is an off day in the tournament before the event wraps up Sunday.
-Monmouth is now 2-2 in ESPN Events tournaments, going 2-1 at the AdvoCare Invitational in 2015. -Monmouth is in a field that includes three postseason teams from last season, with West Virginia having advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 and Cal State Fullerton also qualifying for the NCAA's after winning the Big West. Western Kentucky competed in last season's NIT.
