MONMOUTH WINS HIGH-SCORING AFFAIR OVER CANISIUS, 94-88

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- Monmouth finished the game on a 24-11 run after trailing by seven in the second half, led by 28 points from Justin Robinson (Lake Katrine, NY/Kingston) and 25 from Micah Seaborn (Fort Worth, TX/Prime Prep Academy) to top Canisius 94-88 Sunday afternoon at the OceanFirst Bank Center. The win is Monmouth's fifth in a row as the Hawks sweep the early season MAAC weekend.

MU trailed 77-70 with 9:57 to go after a Chris Atkinson three, but MU battled back with a Robinson three-point play and a two-handed flush from Mustapha Traore (Philadelphia, PA/The Phelps School). A coast-to-coast layup from Seaborn put MU up at 4:30, but Jermaine Crumpton tied it at 86 with 2:43 to go. Robinson netted another three-point play at 2:29 and four straight points put Monmouth up seven to secure the win.
