WOMEN’S SOCCER ANNOUNCES INCOMING CLASS


WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Head Women's Soccer Coach Krissy Turner announced the addition of eight newcomers to the program ahead of the fall 2018 season. The class consists of four student-athletes from New Jersey, two from Pennsylvania and one each from New York and Oregon.

"Overall this class reflects what our program stands for; first class student-athletes who will represent Monmouth University on and off the field in the right way," Turner stated. "We are excited for them to arrive in August and help us continue build on our past success."

Personal: Daughter of Nicole and Tom Albergo … intends to major in Health Sciences.

Personal: Daughter of Jennifer and Kelly Conklin … intends to major in Nursing.

Before Monmouth: Four-year varsity letterwinner at Colts Neck High School … played for head coach Doug Phillips ... two-time First Team All-Shore selection as a junior and senior … team captain as a senior and was a First Team A-North choice … earned a number of accolades as a senior, including 2017 Preseason All-American Watch List, Esmark All-American Team, 2017 American Family Insurance All-USA Preseason Team and Second Team Group III honors … First Team B-North as a junior in 2016 and helped the team win the Shore Conference title … named Third Team Group III, Shore Sports Zone All-Shore Team and News Transcript All-FRHSD  as a sophomore … played in front of the program's all-time leader for shutouts by a goalkeeper … team won 2015 NJ Group III Championship, Section III Championship, Shore Conference Tournament and B North Championship … won 2014 B North Championship and NJ Group III and Section III Championships as a freshman … played club soccer for PDA Shore Revolution and was team captain in 2017 … also played varsity basketball and was a team captain and was member of the track and field team … qualified for the state finals in the javelin in 2015, 2016 and 2017 … freshman and sophomore record holder in the javelin at Colts Neck … 2015 Shore Area Freshman Girls Javelin Champion … member of the National Honor Society.

Before Monmouth: Four-year varsity letterwinner at Manchester Township High School … registered 181 points with 86 goals and 45 assists during her career … four-time All-Division selection … Four-time Offensive Player of the Year and three-time Most Valuable Player … Second Team All-Group II as a senior … helped her team to the Shore Conference Tournament three times and four state tournaments … team won its first Shore Conference Tournament game in school history … team set school records for wins, goals scored and goals allowed … also competed in basketball and track and field … on the court, she was a member of a Group II State Championship team and was named Defensive Player of the Year … took Honors classes in history, Spanish and journalism. 

Personal: Daughter of Addie and Thurston Moore … intends to major in Communication.
