Calloway, Byrnes Stehle and members of the 1977 baseball team will be honored at Monmouth's January 19th men's basketball game against Iona at the OceanFirst Bank Center. Tickets for that game can be purchased by calling 732-263-5735 or visiting MonmouthHawks.com/tickets. They will officially be inducted on June 8, 2018 at the Hall of Fame Ceremony, held in Wilson Hall on campus. Registration information for that event will be announced soon on MonmouthHawks.com and on social media.

"We are excited to welcome Dave, Mary Beth and the 1977 baseball team to the Monmouth Athletics Hall of Fame," said Vice President and Director of Athletics Dr. Marilyn McNeil. "They all left their mark on Monmouth in a number of ways and we cannot wait to celebrate them, beginning with the basketball game on January 19th. "

Dave Calloway excelled at Monmouth both as a player and a coach, and was on the coaching staff for all four of Monmouth's NCAA Tournament appearances, including three as the head coach. Calloway served as MU's head man for 14 seasons, winning three NEC championships and 178 games in the process. Calloway earned 2001 NEC Coach of the Year honors, leading the Blue and White to an NEC title with 21 wins, 15 coming in the league. On the court, he is eighth all-time in scoring with 1,404 points and still holds the MU single-game record for three pointers with nine at Pepperdine in 1990. The sharpshooter is the Hawks' all-time leader in three pointers made with 260 and in single-season triples with 97 in 1989-90. He also holds the program record for three-point shooting percentage at .459, and is sixth in career assists. Calloway was named All-NEC Second Team and to the All-Rookie Team, and is the only Academic All-American in program history (1990). Calloway will be inducted as both a player and a coach.

Mary Beth Byrnes Stehle was a standout for the Hawks, leading the Blue & White to the inaugural Northeast Conference Women's Soccer Championship in 1995, capping that season off with a perfect 5-0 league record. Byrnes Stehle was earned 1994-95 Monmouth Female Athlete of the Year, finishing her career with 73 career points (24 goals, 25 assists). Monmouth recorded back-to-back 17-win seasons in 1994 and 1995 as the team went 34-6-0 in her final two seasons, the best two-year record in program history. The 17 victories in 1994 and 1995 equal the most for a Monmouth women's soccer team in school history. She was named as the NJSCA New Jersey Player of the Year in 1994 as well as earning First Team All-NEC honors in 1995. Byrnes Stehle set Monmouth's single-season assists record (14 – 1994), which ranked ninth in the NCAA in 1994. The 14 assists currently rank third in a single season in Monmouth history.

The 1977 baseball team earned a program-record 25-6 mark and advanced to the NAIA World Series. The team won the NAIA District 31 for the third consecutive season, earning a bid to the Area 8 Tournament. Head Coach Bob Sprague guided the Hawks to wins over George Mason (twice) and Indiana University of Pennsylvania to advance to the NAIA College World Series. The 25 wins at the time set a program record which wasn't broken until 1998. Outfielder Will Puentes led the Hawks on the diamond, earning NAIA Second Team All-America honors while a total of five players were selected to the NAIA Area 8 All-Tournament team.
