WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ- Monmouth University unveiled its brand new Panasonic Video Board at Monmouth's homecoming win against Liberty on October 21.
Â
The board, which measures 53.34' across and 34.65' high, had 75% of its funding raised by Monmouth football alumni and friends. The Panasonic 16mm Primary LED Video board is the fifth largest among Football Championship Subdivision only facilities in terms of square footage and the eighth widest board in the FCS.
Â
"The addition of this impressive scoreboard will no doubt improve the atmosphere at Kessler Stadium," said Vice President and Director of Athletics
Dr. Marilyn McNeil. "We are excited to work with Panasonic on the product, they are fully invested in the partnership and have guided us along each step of the way. The fact that our football alums stepped up to fund this project speaks to the relationships built over the past 24 years as well as our continued commitment to improving facilities at Monmouth. I'm looking forward to seeing our football, lacrosse and track athletes featured on the video board this upcoming season."
Â
"The state-of-the-art video board is another great addition to the facility improvements going on at Monmouth University," said Monmouth Football Head Coach
Kevin Callahan. "To have the board funded by donations from over 125 football alums is a testament to their commitment and passion for this program. It certainly will help in the areas of recruiting and gameday atmosphere and I know our players and staff were excited to see it this past weekend."
Â
The scoreboard compliments Kessler Stadium, Monmouth's new 16 million dollar facility for football, men's and women's lacrosse and track & field programs. Panasonic selected 12-10 Production Company to design and integrate the front end video system of the display. Brad Jagielski (12-10 Production Company Owner) installed Motion Rocket's Launchpad server as the primary content generator and virtual scoring platform. The package also included OES Electronic play clocks including controller and accessories.
Â
"We couldn't be happier to work with Monmouth University on their new stadium," said Matt Ritter, VP of Sales, Panasonic Enterprise Solutions. "This is a football program that has a passionate group of fans and adding in these new technology solutions will only help them enjoy the game even more."
Â
"When the opportunity to donate to the scoreboard was presented to us, Stacy and I were happy to help," said former Monmouth and Dallas Cowboy wide receiver Miles Austin III. "Coach Callahan and Monmouth has given me and my family so much, it was the least we could do."
Â
Monmouth's football team is currently 7-1 and ranked 24
th in the latest coaches poll. The Hawks will face Presbyterian at home this Saturday at 1 PM.
