Baker: 2-3

KENOSHA, WI –  The Monmouth University bowling team placed 11th in a loaded field at the 2017 Warhawk Classic this weekend at Sheridan Lanes.

Monmouth went 5-8 during the three-day tournament, which featured 13 ranked teams competing in the event. Two of Monmouth's victories came against No. 9 Sacred Heart and the Hawks faced the top two teams in the nation in No. 1 McKendree and No. 2 Nebraska.

For the third consecutive week senior Jackie Evans paced the Hawks individually, and she took 21st among individuals as she averaged 201.60 over five traditional games.

WEEKEND NOTES
"Statistically, our numbers improved from last weekend, but many of our opponents shot their best set of the tournament against us. Because of that, we didn't end up with a flattering record, but this was one of the toughest fields we have faced this year and the level of competition will help us improve going forward."
- Director of Bowling Karen Grygiel

- The No. 13 ranked Hawks defeated No. 9 Sacred Heart by a 976-955 score in a Baker match and won four straight games against the Pioneers during Sunday's bracket play.
- The top-10 victories give the Hawks four top-10 wins for the 2017-18 season.
- Monmouth also recorded three wins against Lincoln Memorial.
