WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University head men's lacrosse coach
Brian Fisher has announced the addition of
Marc Zolchonock as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2018 season.
"We are excited to have Marc join our program this fall," Fisher said. "He is a young and motivated coach who possesses a strong work ethic and brings a passion to the field and office every day."
Zolchonock comes to the Jersey Shore after a stint at Rutgers, where he served as the Director of Lacrosse Operations for the past two years. In his role with the Scarlet Knights, Zolchonock's specific responsibilities included oversight of tournament and camps, coordinating road trips and working with the Rutgers equipment staff, in addition to other day-to-day operations for the program.
As a student-athlete, Zolchonock was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse at Kean University. Zolchonock excelled as defenseman for the Cougars as he totaled 77 ground balls and forced 39 turnovers in his career. He led the team in caused turnovers his senior season and was a winner of the Student Scholar Athlete Award in 2013 and 2014. Zolchonock graduated from Kean with a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing in 2015 after serving as a student assistant coach following his playing career.
A native of Livingston, NJ, Zolchonock has held the position of Sales Representative at Fourteen Graphics, an athletic apparel company, where he has worked with clients in the Mid-Atlantic region since 2015.
Zolchonock resides in Manasquan, NJ.
