WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University women's soccer team captured its fourth consecutive MAAC Championship after a dominating 6-0 win over Fairfield on Sunday night at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.
Lauren Karabin (Wall, NJ / Wall / Brookdale) had two goals in the first half before
Jill Conklin (Toms River, NJ / Toms River East) scored on a diving header with 35 seconds remaining in the period to help Monmouth build a 3-0 halftime lead.
Eight minutes after intermission
Madie Gibson (Cape May, NJ / Lower Cape May) scored the first of her two second-half goals to put Monmouth up 4-0. Gibson's second goal came 33 after
Lexie Palladino's (Medford, NJ / Shawnee) free kick in the 69
th minute extended the lead to five.
